Continuous Shooting

When an E-mount lens is attached to the camera, the continuous shooting speed and availability of autofocus tracking varies depending on shooting conditions such as shutter type, focus mode and the attached lens. Please see the tables below.
* The continuous shooting speeds when shooting with the electronic shutter are default setting values.

• Focus Mode: AF-C

• Depending on the attached lens, the continuous shooting speed differs when the camera [Aperture Drive in AF] is set to [Focus Priority], in combination with the [Priority Set in AF-C] settings values.

  • When [Aperture Drive in AF] is set to [Focus Priority] and [Priority Set in AF-C] is set to [Release]:

    When the aperture value is greater than F22, the continuous shooting speed slows down, but the focus will track the subject.

  • When [Aperture Drive in AF] is set to [Focus Priority] and [Priority Set in AF-C] is set to [AF] or [Balanced Emphasis]:

    When the aperture value is greater than F16, the continuous shooting speed slows down, but the focus will track the subject.

Compatible lenses

• Lenses capable of continuously shooting 20 images per second at maximum with AF tracking in AF-C mode

With the exception of the SEL16F28 lens, lenses other than the compatible ones listed above are capable of continuously shooting 15 images per second at maximum in AF-C Mode.

• Lenses capable of continuously shooting 15 images per second at maximum with AF tracking in AF-C mode

When the camera is configured with the sample settings below, it is possible to continuously shoot a maximum of 30 images per second as long as a lens that supports continuously shooting a maximum of 30 images per second is attached to the camera.
