I bought this SA-SW5 together with the Bravia Theatre Quad. Initial setup was good and sound excellent. But after three days, the SA-SW5 suddenly de-link from the Bravia Theatre Quad. Having great difficulties to re-connect the SA-SW5.

The SW5 is great! But ......... Chromecast! Chromecast! We want Chromecast for the Sony Bravia Theatre QUAD ! Why give me Spotify Connect which can only carry to Spotify! Give me Chromecast for the Quad instead not only I can cast this Spotify but also others music streaming services like Tidal.

Great subwoofer over many years, currently pairing it with Theatre Quad. However it lacks of depth and frequency response can’t be reached lower than 30hz it’s the big miss! Hope Sony will release a new improved version in year 2025, this Subwoofer needed a new revamp version. Dual-Subwoofer for Theatre Quad are also considerable.

The SA-SW5 is a superb subwoofer. Amazing bass performance. Paired it with the Bravia Theater Quad provides a very immersive home movie experience. However, the exterior design looks a bit dated, hopefully Sony will come up with an updated version that can compete with Sono in terms of the exterior design.

I bought this month ago and paired with Sony Quad. Even if the bass level set very high, this subwoofer won’t be live unless main audio set extremely high. While the bass good at high volume, no one can hear at high level volume for long at night. If you set volume low , no bass at all.While it could be software or app issue but I just don’t hear any bass from this at low levels.

It's certainly a pricy investment however if you already got into Sony's wireless systems, you probably would only consider Sony's wireless subs. The SW5 certainly packs enough low end. The only thing I wish for is the ability to fine tune the sub. Add a crossover feature to it and I think it will add justification to the price tag. No drop outs, and seamlessly works with my Sony Quad system. Placed it behind my Tv to hide it. Overall really pleased, just docked one star from the overall rating for the lack of crossover feature.

I just bought the subwoofer and have been using it for a month now. It is a good product however there is this strange popping sound on an ad-hoc basis coming out from the the subwoofer.I hope that there might be a new firmware introduced to fix this.

I had a Sony HT-A9 without subwoofer for about a year and thought it was great. After purchasing the SA SW5 to compliment it, it was FANTASTIC! the bass is just so much more enjoyable. my home system feels like a cinema.

Very well built and nice design without any rough or sharp edges. Heart pounding sound. Thankfully level can be easily adjusted via the A-7000 remote. Plenty of headroom.

Bought it together with soundbar A5000. It is a good addition to my soundbar in boosting the bass. As it is connected to soundbar wirelessly, it tended to get disconnected quite frequent when i placed it behind my couch. The connection is getting more stable once i move it near to the soundbar.

I pitched this subwoofer after buying the excellent SONY A-9 speaker system. As good as the A-9’s are, the addition of the SA SW5 is necessary to enjoy the full capabilities of the A-9’s. The SW5 provides the deep rich sounds that compliment the wide range of the the A-9 system. The SW5 is constructed with SONY’s excellent build quality which is a SONY hallmark and which helps separate SONY products from the rest of the pack. For me it’s SONY, no baloney. Keep up your great work.

Bought this with together with HT-A9. Connection is easy. Performance is good enough for me. I understand this may not be those purist home theater but I think this is for soundbars and HTA9 which come with simplicity. I would recommend this is a must with any soundbar or HT-A9. I think skip with SW3.

As others have said, HT-A9 sounds great on its own. BUT, wait until you have this subwoofer. The difference it makes is mindblowing. Being wireless, you can place it at the correct place in the room for the best bass reproduction, provided that you have a power point nearby.

Less than 2 weeks notices popping sound. Pretty bad when watching movies at higher volume or even listening to music. Now with sony service center for possibly 2weeks. I have to wait more than the time I have used it. Shame when it sounds great. HT-A9 misses it.

Bought the SW5 with the HT-A9 on 31st July 2022. It was performing well and sounded great. Bass was pretty good for such a small sub. However, on 19th Aug, abt 2+ weeks after, sub suddenly had crackling sound when bass kicks in. Seems like something is rattling inside. Sent to Sony on 24th Aug. Was told abt 2 weeks for repairs. Ive been using Subwoofers for years. Never had a sub broke down within a month. Very poor built quality.

The subwoofer has the low rumbling bass that is big enough to tremble through a relatively big spacious room of a 5 room HDB. You got to hear it to feel the explosive boom and the heavy footsteps.

Pairing this with HTA7000 makes a night and day difference. Base is punchy, and low freq sound is more in depth. Effects such explosion, drum beat..well..shall I say..more boom boom?
